Primer Pen – acid-based primer for improved adhesion of nail enhancement materials

DENATO Primer Pen is an acid-based product designed to prepare natural nails before gel or acrylic nail enhancements. It helps degrease the nail plate and improve the adhesion of nail enhancement materials, particularly on problem nails prone to lifting. The practical pen design with an applicator allows precise application in a thin layer. The primer air-dries and does not require curing in a UV/LED lamp.

Product detailed description

Primer Pen – acid-based primer for more reliable gel and acrylic adhesion

Proper preparation of the natural nail is one of the important steps towards high-quality, long-lasting nail enhancements. DENATO Primer Pen is an acid-based product designed to degrease the nail plate and improve the adhesion of gel and acrylic nail enhancement materials.

Its properties correspond to those of DENATO Extra Primer. It contains methacrylic acid and is particularly suitable for problematic natural nails where reduced adhesion of nail enhancement materials or premature lifting occurs.

The practical pen-shaped packaging with an applicator tip allows targeted application directly onto the nail plate. It makes it easier to control the amount of product applied and helps minimise unwanted contact with the surrounding skin.

The primer air-dries naturally and does not require curing in a UV/LED lamp. It is intended exclusively for application to the natural nail before applying the subsequent nail enhancement system.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Acid-based primer for preparing natural nails before nail enhancements.
  • Helps degrease the nail plate and prepare its surface for subsequent materials.
  • Improves the adhesion of gel and acrylic to the natural nail.
  • Particularly suitable for problem nails with reduced adhesion of nail enhancement materials.
  • Practical pen design for targeted and precise application.
  • Allows controlled application of the required amount of product.
  • Air-dries without the need for a UV/LED lamp.
  • Intended exclusively for application to the natural nail plate.
  • Package contents: 2.5 ml.

When Should the Primer Pen Be Used?

DENATO Primer Pen is particularly suitable for gel and acrylic nail enhancements on problematic natural nails where standard preparation may not provide sufficient adhesion of the material.

It is especially useful for nails prone to lifting of the enhancement material. The acid-based primer provides a targeted preparation step that helps create more suitable conditions for the adhesion of subsequently applied materials.

The product is not intended for application over large areas of skin or for treating artificial nail tips. Due to its acid content, it is important to use only the necessary amount and follow the requirements of the specific nail enhancement system.

Application Procedure

  1. Prepare the natural nail. Perform the manicure, prepare the nail plate and remove any dust produced during preparation.
  2. Check the condition of the nail and surrounding skin. Do not apply the primer to injured or irritated areas.
  3. Apply a thin layer of Primer Pen directly to the natural nail plate. Use only the minimum amount of product necessary.
  4. Avoid contact with the cuticles and surrounding skin. Do not apply the primer to artificial nail tips.
  5. Allow the primer to air-dry. Do not cure it in a UV/LED lamp.
  6. Once dry, continue by applying a suitable base or nail enhancement material according to the recommended procedure for the system being used.

Recommendations for Professional Use

When using an acid-based primer, it is important to follow the principle that less is more. Apply it only in a thin layer to the natural nail plate. Excessive application is undesirable and may increase the risk of irritation to the surrounding skin.

The pen applicator makes precise application easier. Nevertheless, care must be taken to prevent the product from coming into contact with the cuticles, lateral nail folds or other areas of skin.

Primer is only one part of proper nail preparation. Good adhesion of nail enhancements also depends on appropriate mechanical preparation of the nail plate, thorough dust removal and following the recommended procedure for the selected gel or acrylic system.

Acid-Based vs Acid-Free Primer – What Is the Difference?

An acid-based primer contains an acidic component that helps prepare the surface of the natural nail and improve the adhesion of subsequently applied nail enhancement materials. It is particularly useful when more intensive nail plate preparation is required, for example on problem nails prone to lifting.

Acid-free primers use a different method of promoting adhesion and may be a suitable alternative depending on the condition of the natural nails and the requirements of the specific nail enhancement system. Primer selection should always reflect the condition of the nails and the recommended application procedure.

Package Contents

2.5 ml – practical pen-shaped packaging with an applicator tip.
