Silk

Self-adhesive silk mesh for nail modelling is a practical reinforcement designed for repairing cracked, damaged or weakened nails. The fine mesh can be cut precisely to fit the required area, applied to the prepared nail and then covered with gel or nail polish.

Repairing a cracked nail

For a local repair, cut a sufficiently wide strip of silk so that it extends at least 3 mm beyond the crack on both sides. This ensures that the reinforcement covers not only the crack itself but also the area immediately surrounding it.

Tip for the stress point area

If the crack is located in the stress point area, cut the silk into a triangular shape and position it so that it covers both the crack and the surrounding area of the nail. The shape can be adjusted to suit the specific area being repaired.

How to use

1. Prepare the nail in the usual way and degrease it.
2. Cut a piece of self-adhesive silk to match the size and shape of the area you want to reinforce.
3. Apply the silk to the prepared nail. When repairing a crack, we recommend choosing a size that extends at least 3 mm beyond the crack on both sides.
4. Apply gel or nail polish according to the chosen nail treatment.
5. Cure the gel or allow the nail polish to dry according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the product used.
6. If any visible excess material or uneven areas remain along the sides of the nail, carefully refine them with a nail file.
7. Continue in the usual way according to the chosen nail technique.
